Versatile Blogger Award

Recently I was honored (and I truly mean honored) by JenniferChow.  She kindly nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award.  (sniff, sniff, tear)  Thank you Jennifer very much.  Visit her blog and show her some love.

According to the rules, I must
list 15 blogs worth discovering and reveal 7 things about myself.  So please check out the following valuable blogs.  You can learn more about me at the end of this post. Get writing, networking, and everyday tips from the Masters - Debra St. John, June Sproat, Terri Stone, Morgan Mandel, DL Larson, Rob Walker, Margot Justes and Christine Verstraete. Esther Bradley-DeTally Melody Pearson (April Galloway) Fairfield Writer’s Blog

Now to reveal 7 things about myself.

1, I have raced a quarter midget racecar (and loved it!).
2, I love to fish.
3, I wear baseball caps every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (dress code at work will not allow me to wear them the rest of the week).
4, I have a No Drama rule at my house.  You bring drama you DO NOT cross my doorway.
5, I have five grandchildren and one more on the way (already nicknamed Bean).
6, I refuse to act my age and I refuse to grow up (life is more fun this way).
7, I have trained Service Dogs for the hearing impaired.

And one more, just because.
8, I have a no internet access rule on the weekends because that is my time with my family.

Thanks for reading and THANKS AGAIN JENNIFER!!

  1. Thank you Brooke. I am truly amazed and honored. :-O Now I must retire to choose 15 (really??? 15??)talented and versatile people to whom I can pass the torch, then decide what 7 facts to reveal. My next post day for Reading to Write is a week away. I should be able to accomplish all by then.

    1. This comment has been removed by the author.

    2. The rules say 15, at least according to and Jennifer Chow. You blogroll adventure was so much fun to read!! I look forward to more fun with the Non Bobber blog as well.

    3. Oh, I'm just seeing that you replied to the reply I deleted. I was just going to do what you did. And declare I was wrong. 15 blogs it is.

  2. Thanks so much for the blog love!

  3. Thank you for the great award, Brooke. I appreciate your kind words. Will post it probably on Saturday.

    Have a nice evening.

  4. Oh my Goodness!!! Thanks Brooke. It's so much fun to learn new things about people. I love the baseball cap bit :D I'll post my bit on Monday :)

  5. Congrats! Love reading about my fellow bloggers. I also have 5 grandchildren with one on the way (but no 'bean' nomenclature so far), and we raised a breeder for the Guide Dogs, Torie, who was the love of our lives for the 12 years she lived. And she birthed a total of 12 other little Guide Dog goldens.

  6. Thank you, Brooke! I have posted to my trophy wall on my FaceBook author's page:

  7. You're very welcome, Brooke! Love how you didn't conform and added eight items to your list. Weekend family time sounds great... I don't know if I could do it, though.

  8. Thank you so much! I have to admit #5 threw me because I guessed you were 29. Then #6 came along and made it all clear!

  9. Hi, Brooke and thanks a lot! I'm truly thrilled to be awarded so many blogger awards this year.
However, I made it my rule to accept only one per year, or they will get similar to chain letter and lose their value.
Thanks again and best of luck writing and popularising!
    Best, M.

  10. Thank you Brooke! This is Adair Heitmann, one of the co-authors of The Fairfield Writer's Blog. What an honor! What a great way to expand and connect with other writers!
